Welcome to Saved On Street

Saved On Street is a non-profit organization based in Uganda. We focus on providing aid to vulnerable children, particularly those who are already living on the streets of Uganda and who are at risk. Through different programs, we aim to improve their quality of life. We pursue the goal that they grow up to be independent adults. By working together with their communities, we want to create a lasting and meaningful change in the lives of the children as well as in their communities.

Currently, we are focusing on the communities in Luweero District, close to Kampala. Samuel Sekitto, the founder of SOS, grew up in this district. Therefore, it is a privilege and a honor for him to be able to uplift and empower his community.

Due to different reasons, such as being an orphan and lack of job opportunities, lots of kids in the district are not able to go to school, because their families can’t afford the tuition. If they can not afford the fees, lots of children are at home supporting their families, or they have to earn money to go to school. With that being said, we want to save the kids from living or working on the streets. The kids we are working with, who are already living on the streets, face a lot of difficulties daily.

Street kids tend to do drugs to forget their worries or find themselves in dangerous situations on the streets. Repression by the police is an example. To prevent all of this, we are supporting the kids in their hometowns, so that they can have a proper education for a better future. If they are already on the streets, we also have various programs to support them.
We focus on educating children in their strengths for a sustainable society. Our aim is to support the children in their education and empower their development to become productive citizens of Ugandan society.
